‘Nail In A Wooden Trunk’ is Tapir!’s attempt to capture the sound of their legendary live shows in a studio format. It’s a playful cut that uses a simple, nursery rhyme melody to drift through a hazy country-pop dreamscape, culminating in a Neutral Milk Hotel-style psychedelic, horn-led instrumental. They explain: “After being so meticulous with our album, we wanted to try a more ‘carefree’ & playful approach with this song.
